Revived Ninja Turtles defeat Spartans at Thermopylae

New York- The surprise hit 300, portraying a last stand by Spartan soldiers to defend ancient Greece, was knocked from its stronghold atop the North American box-office rankings by a new version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. According to preliminary studio estimates issued Sunday, the newly released TMNT revived the moribund 1980s cartoon characters with a Friday-Sunday gross of 25.5 million dollars.

300 slipped to second place with a gross of 20.5 million dollars during its third weekend in cinemas.

The start of the day on Monday was uneventful, but at around 11 am a reporter of LA Times noticed increased mobility in the photocopy area of the University Library; Mr Zafeiris was later spotted leaving from the back door, carrying a big box. When CNN asked him what was in it, he replied ‘no comment’ and headed towards the Reprographics services of the University. He was later seen leaving the building without the box, but with a big smile in his face, and still refusing to answer any questions.

Our reporter visited the reception of Reprographics, which (is rumoured) was the office of Dr Kritsotakis when he was writing his Ph.D., but the employees refused to offer any more information. However, it was pretty clear that the unthinkable was indeed going to happen, and bookmakers all over Britain were slashing the odds.

At 3 pm today, Mr Zafeiris entered the Old Union Building. The building is also known as the Labyrinth, and it is the last challenge every Ph.D. candidate has to face before submitting; finding their way to the PostGrad Office, and, more importantly, managing to get out to the real world is a daunting task, and many a students are known to have failed this last step. But Mr Zafeiris emerged from the building safe and sound, accompanied by an attractive young lady. He again refused to make any comments (there is a rumour that he is to give an exclusive interview to the ’60 minutes’), but did make the victory sign, and walked towards the Old Course.

Θέμα: τί θέλω να γίνω όταν μεγαλώσω;

1. Δεν ξέρω.
2. Μετά από χ χρόνια διαβάσματος και γραψίματος, χτες έβαλα την τελευταία τελεία στο διδακτορικό μου.
3. Αφού τελείωσε κι αυτό, λέω να ξεκινήσω να γράφω σενάριο για ταινία – προλαβαίνω τα Όσκαρ για του χρόνου;
4. Αν και αυτό δεν πετύχει, θα γίνω υδραυλικός· προχτές που κάλεσα έναν, μου πήρε 80 λίρες για 10 λεπτά δουλειά!
5. Ε, αν κι αυτό δεν προχωρήσει (highly possible, αν ήξερα από υδραυλικά, θα έκανα μόνος μου την 10 λεπτά δουλειά που σας έλεγα…), θα κάνω το γνωστό ελληνικό: θα βάλω ένα μέσο (“ξέρεις πόσα κουκιά είμαστε η οικογένεια μου;”), και θα πιάσω μια δουλειά σε κάτι άσχετο από αυτό που σπούδασα, μάλλον σε καμιά νομαρχία να συμπληρώνω ΠροΠο και να ταλαιπωρώ τους κόσμους, και να με βρίζουν στα μπλογκ!

Αυτά τα άσχετα, τώρα λέει πρέπει να βρω άλλους να περάσω τη σκυτάλη γιατί αλλιώς θα μου καεί το ντιβιντι – ή κάτι εξίσου κακό, όπως να μην περάσω τη viva. Για να δούμε, ποιόν άλλο ξέρουμε στο αχανές διαδίκτυο, στην ανεξερεύνητη ελληνική ιστολογιόσφαιρα (μα ποιος είμαι, ο Μπαμπινιώτης;):

- Στους μάγειρες και στις μαγείρισσες του Hungry for life, που μου ανοίγουν την όρεξη κάθε φορά που ανοίγω το μπλογκ τους (μήπως να γίνω σεφ;).
- Στους Movie Inquisition του We Crucify Very Bad Movies, που γράφουν κι αυτοί σαν κι εμένα: στη χάση και στη φέξη. (μήπως να γίνω κριτικός κινηματογράφου;).
-Στους ιδρυτάς του φρέσκου φρέσκου Ερωτικές ιστορίες – sex storieς (μήπως τελικά να ασχοληθώ με τσόντες; μπορεί και να βγάζω περισσότερα από υδραυλικός –και σίγουρα περισσότερα από όσα τώρα..).

Αυτά.

 Είναι δύσκολο για μένα, καθώς ζω σ’αυτόν τον όμορφο Λευκό Οίκο, να σου δώσω μια εκτίμηση από πρώτο χέρι. Δεν έχω πάει εκεί. Εσύ έχει πάει. Εγώ όχι.
